Can an insurance agent apply for E&O insurance online?

Yes — the application is completed online.

AdvisorCovered.com has simplified the process, making it easy to apply for E&O coverage online.

Presently, we are not taking phone applications.

Does bankruptcy disqualify me?

No.

Financial history alone does not automatically prevent you from obtaining coverage.

Can I upgrade my coverage later?

Yes — you can increase limits during the policy year.

You generally cannot reduce limits mid-term because the insurer has already accepted the higher exposure.

What is minimum earned premium?

Insurance carriers earn part of the premium immediately when coverage begins. This means if you cancel early, a minimum portion of the policy cost is still retained.

Does this cover all insurance carriers I work with?

Yes — coverage applies to the services you perform, not a specific carrier, as long as the products fall within covered professional services.

How do I get my certificate of insurance?

You’ll get a copy of your certificate to download directly after you purchase your policy.

Your certificate is also available inside your AdvisorCovered account after the policy is issued.

Can I add a certificate holder?

Yes — you can request a certificate holder when a carrier, employer, or agency requires proof of coverage.

Can I add an additional insured?

No.

This is an individual or agency professional liability policy. It protects your professional services — not other businesses or partners directly.

How do I check the status of my application?

I most cases, you’ll receive policy confirmation and your policy will issue directly after making payment.

However:
If your application requires an underwriting exception, you’ll receive notice via email.
